Opening Night: Thor: Love And Thunder

Good day CrewMembers and welcome to “Opening Night: Thor: Love And Thunder.”

The purpose of the “Opening Night” feature is to give newcomers the foundations and basic information to be able to enjoy the program more fully. We work to avoid probable spoilers and speculation to allow everyone to enjoy “THOSE” moments together. We take our focus from the trailers and on-the-record news confirmed by the cast and crew.

The first teaser trailer for Thor: Love And Thunder was just released, so what better time to release the post?!

Thor: Love and Thunder marks the 4th "solo" outing for the God of Thunder. Solo as in his name is in the title, but the Marvel Cinematic Universe "solo" films have been increasingly group efforts. In fact, Thor will be the first MCU character to get a 4th solo film. Let's breakdown what you need to be prepared to join The Odinson on this new journey.

First, we obviously have to focus on Thor himself. As we mentioned, there are 3 Thor movies before this one: Thor, Thor: The Dark World, Thor: Ragnarok. These are automatically required viewing. Thor is also present in the Avengers movies. Add in Avengers, Avengers: Age of Ultron, Avengers: Infinity War, and Avengers: Endgame for his full character arc up to this point.

Then, there's also that group of misfits that are in the trailer. To understand what they've been up to we're going to give you two more films to check out. Guardians of the Galaxy, and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2 will get you familiar with that troupe.

At this point, meaning after one teaser trailer, there doesn't seem to be any other established MCU characters involved. With that in mind, here is your checklist:
